Everton’s Yerry Mina has been named as one of the top 20 defenders in world football.
FIFPro and FIFA have been announcing the best players in the game currently, as voted for by their fellow professionals.
Players across the globe after invited to vote for the best players in each position, with a shortlist of 20 being revealed per position.
The shortlisted players will then be battling for a place in the ‘World 11’, which will be announced at the Best FIFA Football Awards later this month.
Mina caught the eye of several teams around Europe over the summer with his dominant performances at the heart of the Colombian defence.
With it looking clear that he was leaving Barcelona, a host of clubs were queuing up to sign the defender.
Despite interest from Manchester United and Lyon, in the end, it was Everton who won the race and secured his services.
However, Mina is yet to feature for Everton this season, with the former Barcelona man still recovering from injury.
