Everton winger Aiden McGeady looks set to move to Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the rest of the season after Everton accepted a loan offer, according to Sky Sports.
The Irishman has been on the fringes of the first team but has never looked like breaking into a starting role, especially with the likes of Gerard Deulofeu, Kevin Mirallas, Aaron Lennon, Leon Osman and Arouna Kone all playing on the wings without McGeady getting a look in.
The winger has scored only one goal for the Blues in his time on Merseyside, a brilliant finish against Leicester City last season. Since last season, McGeady has not made one appearance in the league, his only time on the pitch being against Barnsley which came in the Capital One Cup but the winger was still dragged off at half-time.
The Irishman was linked with a move to Sevilla yesterday but with the lure of first team football, it looks like he has favoured a lower league move. Sevilla coach Unai Emery had managed McGeady during his time at Spartak Moscow.
With the deadline so close, could Everton dip into the market for another winger?
