Burnley, Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham have reportedly expressed an interest in signing James McCarthy from Everton on loan.
The Republic of Ireland international is believed to be edging ever closer to a return to full fitness following nearly a year on the sidelines.
McCarthy suffered a broken leg in January after a challenge from Salomon Rondon in the Toffees’ encounter with West Brom in the Premier League.
He has been out of action since but it seems he is working hard to be fit and ready for the second half of the campaign.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, though, it is likely that the 28-year-old will not be playing his football at Goodison Park, with Marco Silva willing to let him leave on loan.
Competition for places is fierce at Everton and McCarthy appears to be unlikely to get a look-in.
This has prompted the club to explore other alternatives for the experienced midfielder, with plenty of top-flight loan moves seemingly on offer should he seek pastures new temporarily.
If the Irishman impresses during a potential loan spell elsewhere, TEAMtalk claim that he could still play a part in Silva’s plans with the Toffees.
