According to The Mirror, Roberto Martinez believes if Everton are to be taken over the new owners will take the club to a new level.
‘If there are investors, it will bring the opportunity to fulfil the projects we have behind the scenes and help the ultimate dream, which is becoming one of the best teams domestically and in European football.’
Everton currently possess a squad with some of the best young talents in England, with players such as Ross Barkley, John Stones, Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu currently plying their trade at Goodison Park. For many Everton fans with players of this level at the club, the current form simply isn’t good enough.
But if Bill Kenwright is to sell the club, Roberto Martinez believes that it won’t take place for a few years. The Catalonian boss said, ‘If it happens it’s going to be over three years or a period where everything is well controlled and introduced.’
It was widely believed that John Jay Moores, former San Diego Padres owner, was set to buy Everton but according to The Mirror there are three other parties in line to buy Everton, with one of the parties said to be from China. The Mirror are also reporting that the sale of the club will not take place until the summer.
