Lucas Digne deserves Team of the Year spot with incredible assist record this season

Everton signed French left-back Lucas Digne from Barcelona back in 2018 for just over £18million.

Since then, the Frenchman has grown to make left-back position his own after taking over from Leighton Baines.

This season has been no different for Digne, with him proving himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the league.

Although he is more than capable defensively, Digne’s biggest threat is going forward.

The left-back has proven this season that he is more than capable at providing the goals.

The Sportsman posted a video on Twitter yesterday, highlighting Digne’s assist record this season…

The Frenchman has seven assists so far this campaign – more than any other defender in the Premier League.

It is an incredible table to lead considering some of the competition he faces in the league.

Last season saw rival duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson lead the way with 13 and 12 respectively.

However, this season sees a completely different ball game with Digne holding the lead with West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell.

Digne has been one of the more consistent performers in the Everton squad this season.

So much so, that his performances and stats could easily lead to a nomination for him in the Team of the Year.

There is hope that he won’t be overlooked by one of the Big Six’s players – but only time will tell.
