The day is upon us, it’s the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
The Blues go into the game without a win in six Premier League matches while Liverpool are coming off the back of a win at Bournemouth as well as a historic victory against Borussia Dortmund.
Everton will almost certainly have one eye on their semi-final against Manchester United on Saturday and could rest players, although Roberto Martinez has maintained that he will field his strongest team.
Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman are both ruled out while there are several players carrying knocks, including star striker Romelu Lukaku. The big question on everyone’s lips is whether the Catalonian will decide to rest the Belgian with Arouna Kone the only alternative.
Should the Blues come out on top, it would be their first victory at Anfield since 1999, something which would certainly relieve pressure from Martinez, for now.
This is going to be one hell of a week.
