Everton boss Ronald Koeman is targeting Maarten Stekelenburg, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Dutch shot-stopper was brought to Southampton on loan from Fulham at the beginning of last season by Koeman, who now hopes to bring the 33-year-old into the club as a backup keeper.
It is thought that the club will still target a no.1 goalkeeper and that Stekelenburg would be brought in to provide cover. This would suggest that Joel Robles’ time at the club could be up after he dethroned Tim Howard from the no.1 spot last season.

There have been reservations over whether Robles’ is good enough to remain as the club’s regular goalkeeper but if the report is to be believed, Koeman has decided that the Spaniard is surplus to requirements.
Several names have been linked with Everton in terms of their goalkeeping situation, with Steve Mandanda, Asmir Begovic and Tim Krul prominent names in the press.
