Koeman Looking To Add New Goalkeeper In January

Ronald Koeman signed 34 years old Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham last summer which is not a long-term option for The Toffees, therefore Koeman looks to bring in a new goalkeeper, according to the Mirror.

Maarten Stekelenburg has established himself as first choice goalkeeper ahead of Joel Robles in the pecking order since signed by Koeman last summer.

Ronald Koeman is known to be fond of Fraser Forster, the player who worked under him at Southampton. But striking a deal would seem to be unlikely, especially in January. It is understood, though, that Forster would prefer to play for a team competing in the Champions League.

Though Joe Hart was available in the summer on loan from Manchester City, Koeman said that he only wanted to sign a player who would fight for the No.1 spot.

Everton failed to add another goalkeeper before the close of summer window but are eager to bring in a fresh face in January.

As for right now, there are not many rumors about who Everton is going to sign in the winter transfer window. The Toffees might look towards Jordan Pickford, Jack Butland, Asmir Begovic as long-term replacements for Maarten Stekelenburg.
