Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka claims that Everton loanee Kieran Dowell will be a top player in the future, according to the Nottingham Post.
However, the Spaniard is mystified as to why his performances dropped towards the final stages of the campaign. While he acknowledges that Dowell’s season faded in the final third, he also claimed that he has all the attributes to succeed at the top level.
2017/18 marked Dowell’s first season as a regular playing first-team football, and his start with Forest was particularly impressive. The 20-year old from Ormskirk looked sharp for Forest, contributing a total of ten goals and four assists in all competitions throughout the season.

This included a goal and an assist against Arsenal, whom Forest beat 4-2 in the FA Cup at the City Ground.
Talking about Dowell’s influence for Forest and his subsequent decline in form, Karanka said;
The Championship is tough and he did start really well. I do not know what happened.
I don’t know if he started to feel pressure from other players who had signed, but he lost his confidence. He looked a different player.
But I am still sure that he will be an amazing player in the future, because he has everything. He is powerful, he has technique, he is a good kid.
Dowell will play for England Under-21s at the Toulon tournament this summer, and Everton fans will be sure to keep an eye on his performances, with many demanding his inclusion in the Toffees first-team set-up for next season.
