- Everton are set for a huge upcoming summer transfer window.
- They will look to reach their goal of European football in 2026-27.
- Quality is needed but there are players Moyes will look to offload.
Everton will end their season in disappointing fashion after failing to secure qualification for European football.
Except for notable injuries to Jack Grealish and Jarrad Branthwaite, the Toffees entered the run-in with a full-strength squad but have not won any of their last six Premier League encounters.
It pinpointed a glaring issue in David Moyes’ side that they require an injection of quality this summer, and while there will be several incomings, the Scotsman will likely look to offload some of these players.
Nathan Patterson
Nathan Patterson has struggled to settle on Merseyside since he made the move from Rangers in January 2022.
His most active season with the Blues was in the 2023-24 season, and even then, he featured in just 20 Premier League matches.
The defender has only made three league starts under Moyes in this campaign, and with links already being made that have suggested Patterson will leave Hill Dickinson Stadium, his time at the Toffees will likely come to a close this summer.
Dwight McNeil
After coming so close to an exit in January, Dwight McNeil’s future at Everton is in doubt, and a move may beckon for the Englishman this summer.
The arrival of Jack Grealish booted McNeil to the bench, but he managed to claw himself back into the main picture and started seven successive matches between February and April.
However, a poor mistake from the winger in the Merseyside Derby took him out of starting contention, with Merlin Rohl proving to be an upgrade.
McNeil’s contract runs out in June 2027, and with doubts over whether it will be renewed, Moyes could look to cash in on the 26-year-old.
Harrison Armstrong
Harrison Armstrong returned from a successful loan spell at Preston North End in January, as Moyes wanted to add depth to his severely depleted squad.
He was thrown straight back into action with Moyes and played six Everton matches in the month that he returned.
But when the Blues started to regain players, Armstrong’s game time reduced, and it appears that the Scotsman would like the midfielder to gain more experience.
The 19-year-old is key to Everton’s future plans, but a loan move could be in store for him this summer.
Adam Aznou
The signing of Adam Aznou was one that filled Evertonians with excitement and promise over a developing young player.
But the Moroccan has played in just one senior match this season, a bright cameo against Sunderland in the FA Cup that secured his side a penalty and the eventual equaliser.
Since 31 January, the defender has only featured on the bench in two Everton matches and has been absent from the rest.
It is unclear whether Moyes wants to sell or loan Aznou to another club, yet it remains clear that the 19-year-old may be in for a move away from Merseyside.
