Callum Connolly didn’t need to waste much time to make a good impression of himself at Wigan Athletic.
On January 14th 2017, Everton announced that the youngster would go on loan to The Latics until the end of the season. And on that same day, he went straight to the starting eleven to replace Nick Powell and start the game against Burton Albion.

45 minutes later, he was already scoring for Wigan. Putting The Latics ahead at the end of the first half with a brilliant header.

On the 63rd minute, he added another one to his tally. Heading home the game winner from a corner kick set-piece.
