Roberto Martinez has confirmed that highly rated full back Luke Garbutt is available on loan this season, with Fulham showing early interest in the 22-year old.
Garbutt starred in Everton’s 3-1 Barclays Asia Trophy defeat to Arsenal in Singapore last weekend.
He signed a new five-year deal earlier this summer but now Martinez is keen for the young left back to gain first team experience to further his development, with the Cottagers favourites to acquire his services, according to ESPN FC.
“The idea will be to send him on loan to get important experience,” Martinez said.
“But it was very important that Luke wanted to stay at Everton, a place where he can fully develop his potential.
“As a club we’re looking forward to seeing his best years, once he’s had that year away. At the moment we’re very strong in that position but that doesn’t stop us wanting to keep a very good left-back with an incredible future.”
