Everton are confident Brendan Galloway will be fit for Saturdays clash with Aston Villa, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Galloway picked up a thigh strain in the warm up prior to the game at Upton Park earlier in the month. He went on to play the full 90 minutes and then set off with the England U21 squad for International duty.
But he was declared unfit to face Bosnia and Herzegovina last Thursday and pulled out of the squad during the weekend – meaning he’ll miss the game with Switzerland in Brighton.
The 19-year-old has been a regular name on Martinez’s teamsheet this season, playing 12 first team games due first choice left-back Leighton Baines’ injury which he picked up on the eve of the season.
Last week, Everton held a behind-closed-doors game for Baines as he makes his comeback after an injury which has kept him out of all of Everton’s games so far this season.
Despite it being his first full 90 minutes for around six months, the 30-year-old came back with a goal.
Baines does remain some way off so Galloway is expected to fill in the left-back position for Saturday’s home game against relegation threatened Aston Villa.
