Everton have had many transfer flops in their rich and storied history, but over the last ten years, many of those flops have proven to be more costly.
Oumar Niasse and Cuco Martina are two such players currently in Everton’s squad who would fall under the flop category, with both players set to become free agents in the summer.
Despite Everton’s failed attempts to offload the duo in January, the club know they will finally see the back of them both soon, with the Senegal striker currently the subject of interest from Turkish outlet Trabzonspor, so reports Fotospor (as translated by Sport Witness).
Football Insider claimed in January that Oumar Niasse had rejected the chance to move to the Championship on loan, with it believed that the forward only wants a move to Turkey or the Premier League.
No matter who the 29-year-old joins this summer, Everton will receive no transfer fee, despite having shelled out £13.5 million to sign him from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016.
With Niasse in mind, we’ve looked at four other flops from the past ten years that proved to not be worth the fee paid for them.
