Well, this match did not end how most Evertonians thought it would.
Everton headed into this match with confidence after a great display against Liverpool this past Sunday. Most thought this confidence would carry over, and it did! However, It did not last long after halftime.
There were many bright spots during this match. Everton seemed in complete control for long periods. Quick passing, fluid movement, and clever finishes, everything was going great.
There were a few blunders, Pickford causing a penalty was one. But he managed to block it and Everton answered right back with their second goal!
After the 60th minute, everything fell apart. The pressure started to build on the Toffees with Newcastle and the fan raging on. Marco Silva’s substitutes did not help Everton and put them in a worse position. By then, the damage was done.
