Five things we learned from Everton’s 2018/19 season

Everton’s 2018/19 season was packed with ups and downs, but their form towards the end of the campaign has left the supporters with plenty of encouragement to take into the summer.

The Toffees suffered from inconsistency at times throughout the season but appear to be building something exciting, with Marco Silva and Marcel Brands at the helm.

Everton failed to secure their place in European competition next season, but this may yet be a blessing in disguise.

The manager will be allowed to work closely with his squad, which is likely to be supplemented with additional quality in the summer and focus on pushing them into contention for a finish in the top six or seven.

An important transfer window awaits the Toffees, but they will be able to reflect on their efforts in the 2018/19 campaign with general satisfaction, although the desire for success of a greater degree will no doubt be on the minds of the Goodison faithful.

Here are five things we learned from the past season.
