Everton are looking for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window and have identified two Championship stars as targets.
And Roberto Martinez is eyeing Leeds’ 22-year-old right-back Sam Byram and Burnley’s former Manchester United defender Michael Keane to bolster his already youthful backline, which contains the like of John Stones, Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning.
As per Daily Star, who used Daily Mail as a source, the Toffees have retained their interest in signing the Leeds starlet, but are balking at the £6m asking price.
Byram, who is highly regarded by many within the game, could leave Elland Road this season when his contract expires next summer, with Everton said to be long-term admirers.
When it comes to Michael Keane, Everton are keeping a close eye on the former Man United outcast, who never really came close to featuring in the first-team at Old Trafford.
Keane joined Burnley for a fee in the region of around £2million and has developed at a steady pace at Turf Moor, and it is believed the Clarets are braced for an approach in January.
