Everton youngster Conor McAleny has had his loan deal at Charlton Athletic cut short, according to reports.
The Addicks were meant to have kept hold of the promising youngster until after this weekend’s fixture against Sheffield Wednesday, but the London’s News Shopper claims that he has returned to Goodison Park.
McAleny made nine appearances for Athletic and could possibly head back out on loan or train the Toffee’s youth academy.
Charlton Athletic lie 23rd in the Championship standings, only above Rotherham United.
Karel Fraye, who is Charlton’s interim manager, has said:
They are not down, everyone was very disappointed [after our last two results] but we know the only way is to look forward and work hard and the players are willing to do that.
He continued to say that:
…if players don’t want to do it I’m not going to use them.
In that case we ended the contract of Conor McAleny today so it need to give an example.
McAleny moved to The Valley in September and with this loan looking like a failure, does the youth graduate have any chance of making it at Goodison?
