Virals: Everton boast incredible xG during goalless draw with Brighton and Hove Albion

Last night saw Everton fail to take advantage in the Premier League with them running out a goalless draw against Brighton.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side were given a great chance to strengthen their European football opportunities after Tottenham lost out to Manchester United at the weekend.

A win would have taken the Toffees just two points away from city rivals Liverpool in the league table.

Despite that, Everton now sit one point behind European rivals Tottenham with the two set to face each other on Friday.

However, one of the main takeaways from the game was Everton’s form in front of goal.

A tweet from The xG Philosophy on Twitter showed just how wasteful Ancelotti’s side was during the draw with an awful xG…

During yesterday’s draw, there a total of 31 shots with not one worth more than 0.15(xG).

The lack of expected goals during the game has shown just how poor both teams were in attacking positions.

It was clear that the Toffees were lacking in optiosn last night with a number of injuries at the club right now.

In fact, yesterday saw the club take just one fit senior midfielder in Tom Davies to the Amex last night.

It would be fair to say that Everton are suffering somewhat of an injury crisis at the moment with Dominic Calvert-Lewin also sidelined.

Hopefully, the squad can react in the right way with a crunch game against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday.
