Everton are prepared to resist bids of £50million for Romelu Lukaku, according to the Mirror.
Lukaku has discussed a move away from Merseyside over the past couple of days, but the Goodison Park hierarchy are prepared to fight hard in order to keep their prized asset.
The report says the Blues won’t consider any offer under £50million for the talented Belgian, and it would take a monumental bid to get the Toffeemen to budge.
Lukaku has scored 25 goals for the Blues this season and is sought after by Europe’s top clubs, but he still has three years left on his current deal with Everton, who have no interest in letting their focal point leave.
Farhad Moshiri has promised to invest heavily in the Club this summer and also pledged to try and keep Everton’s star players from leaving in the transfer window.
Moshiri and Bill Kenwright will also try to tempt Lukaku into staying at Everton with a much-improved contract.
The former Chelsea hitman has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League, but as John Stones and Chelsea know all too well, Everton don’t give up without a fight.
