We are back again with our Football Manager 2016 simulation, where we see how the virtual world predicts how our game against Spurs will pan out come Sunday afternoon.
Last week the popular sports simulation game predicted a routine victory over Stoke City, winning 3-1 with all Everton goals coming in the first 30 minutes. Couldn’t have been any more wrong could it? Instead, the Blues managed to ‘Everton’ the game, losing 1-0, pulling a goal back, losing 2-1, pulling a goal back, winning 3-2 and then ultimately losing the game 4-3.
The Merseysiders will be looking for a more positive result this weekend, as Everton now languish in the bottom half of the table, nine points adrift of fourth place Spurs. While, in Football Manager, it is looking more positive for the Blues, they currently occupy 7th place but are still nine points off Spurs who are in 6th.

Onto the game, with Everton conceding an 85th-minute equaliser, Spurs steal a point from Goodison Park. Everton took the lead through Steven Naismith in the 29th minute, only for Clinton N’Jie to score an ‘audacious’ chip and crush hopes of moving closer to European competition. With 13 shots on goal and 5 of them on target for Everton, and 15 shots and 5 on target for Spurs, it was possibly a fair result for both teams.

Everton will be hoping to avoid another disappointing home display, and will be looking to keep all three points in the North come Sunday evening. With Tom Cleverley and James McCarthy both unlikely to feature, it could be a chance for Muhamed Besic to impress on his return to the team, and a return to the bench for Kevin Mirallas and Aaron Lennon is likely.
