After enduring the reigns of Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce in previous years, there has been an obvious upturn in the mood around the place during Mr Silva’s ongoing tenure.
That, perhaps, is why the fanbase as a whole right now is reaching points lower than during any moment of his priors’ premierships. We have expectations of the football club once again, with Mr Brands at the helm, there is tangible reason for optimism. To see that all come crashing down, and effectively the season along with it, is extremely disheartening.
We’re too far behind at this point to salvage anything from the campaign, as we have a hellish run upcoming and we will approach the Christmas period near the bottom of the table. Naturally, there have been calls for Mr Silva’s head due to the results. I certainly see the cause for that side of the argument, and I don’t necessarily have any heart in me to argue against it.
That’s probably the worst part, is that if someone asked me whether I wanted Mr Silva to remain as the manager of Everton, I would just say that I don’t really care. If he goes, there won’t be an improvement. If he stays, I can’t see any improvement on the horizon either.
Sheffield Wednesday up next, and we’re not going to get much further in the cups so we might as well get it over with now.
Here is how we predict Everton could line up in the cup.
