A year and a half on from when David Unsworth took charge of Everton, he finds himself this time taking the Blues to Chelsea, as he looks to stake his claim on the job full-time.
It’s come from a cathartic Sunday afternoon, as Ronald Koeman was finally removed from the club by an apparently exasperated Farhad Moshiri. Now, there is going to be much speculation over the vacant position and just who will be filling the boots of Koeman and it is our job to add as much fuel to the rumour fire as possible.
Carlo Ancelotti and Thomas Tuchel are the big names, Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce have been thrown around as grounded options and David Moyes is winking at Kenwright again. It’s an odd year, 2017, isn’t it?
But we have a game on our hands on Wednesday evening as Oumar Niasse’s heroics coupled with a Dominic Calvert-Lewin brace in the previous round rewarded the club with a trip to Chelsea.
