  • Everton are linked with a host of big names in the Premier League
  • David Moyes is reportedly a big admirer of Conor Gallagher
  • Everton is interested again in signing Liam Delap

Everton are planning for a busy summer transfer window. With Idrissa Gana Gueye approaching the end of his contract and a midfield shuffle expected, David Moyes is exploring creative solutions to bolster his midfield and attack.

According to reports from The Sun, the Toffees have set their sights on three Premier League targets. Tottenham Hotspur’s Conor Gallagher, Aston Villa captain John McGinn and Chelsea striker Liam Delap are all on the list.

Everton sit tenth in the table, just two points behind eighth place, with two games remaining, including a final‑day trip to Tottenham. The club’s recruitment team is already in action and these three names would add experience and quality to the team.

Gallagher the perfect fit for Moyes’ midfield

Conor Gallagher has struggled since joining Spurs in January on an initial loan with an obligation to buy. The 26‑year‑old has made minimal impact in north London, with Tottenham caught in a relegation battle. They are currently 17th, just two points above West Ham. His wages are understood to be around £200,000 a week, and he could be available for approximately £35m, the same fee Tottenham paid Atletico Madrid.

Everton are interested in a loan deal, most likely with an obligation to buy in 2027. It is believed that Moyes is a “big admirer” of the former Chelsea academy graduate. Gallagher has proven at Crystal Palace and Chelsea that he can perform at a high level.

His work rate, pressing and ability to cover ground would suit Moyes’ system perfectly. A loan with an obligation to buy in 2027 would spread the cost and allow Everton to strengthen without breaking their wage structure.

McGinn brings experience, Delap offers a fresh start to Everton

John McGinn has been a mainstay at Aston Villa since 2018. The 31‑year‑old Scotsman has recorded over 30 league appearances in six successive seasons. His contract runs until 2028, but Everton are reportedly interested in the Villa skipper. McGinn’s leadership, persistence and Premier League experience would add a different dimension to Everton’s midfield, especially if European football is secured.

Up front, Everton are targeting Chelsea striker Liam Delap. The 23‑year‑old has endured a miserable campaign at Stamford Bridge, with just three goals and one assist in 45 appearances across all competitions. After a brilliant season at Ipswich, his move to Chelsea has backfired. Everton want to sign Delap on loan with an option to buy.

With Beto’s contract expiring next season and Thierno Barry being inconsistent, Delap would offer a reliable, physical option up front. A fresh start under Moyes could reignite his career.

Everton have also been linked with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen as well, alongside these three big names. Angus Kinnear has promised further developments for the summer in the latest match-day programme, so a big window is expected for Everton. Which targets they eventually choose to pursue depends on the recruitment plans, but Everton are in for some big names.

matchday.
