Everton tracking Marseille’s Isaac Lihadji – a sensible target for the Toffees?

Everton have reportedly joined Manchester United in tracking Marseille winger Isaac Lihadji – but is he a sensible target for the Toffees?

According to French outlet La Provence, cited by Sports Witness, Everton have joined both United and La Liga champions Barcelona in tracking the teenager ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The 17-year-old has just 12 months left on his current youth deal and is looking for guaranteed first-team football in the immediate future.

Current Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas has used the youngster in pre-season, however, the player is still yet to sign a professional deal, so a move to Merseyside could well be on the cards.

Lihadji would more than likely receive more game time at Everton over both Manchester United and Barcelona, with Marco Silva keen to bring in numerous additions before the window shuts.

The Toffees have been linked with multiple wingers during the current window, including big-money moves for both Wilfried Zaha and David Neres.

However, a cheaper option would certainly be an attempt to land Lihadji, who could turn out to be a future star.

The teenager has been capped by France at Under 17 level, and with the right guidance, could well become a first-team regular somewhere in Europe over the coming years. Whether that is with Everton remains to be seen, however, it looks to be a sensible move keeping tabs on the wide man.
