Everton will not sign any players this summer until a new manager is appointed, according to the Liverpool Echo.
New Director of Football, Marcel Brands, will arrive at the club next week and has claimed that appointing a new manager is his first priority. Former Watford boss Marco Silva is still said to be the leading candidate to replace Sam Allardyce, who was sacked earlier this month.

The Dutchman has said that he wants to consult the management staff before recruiting any new signings, so he will look to bring in a new boss before any transfer activity gets underway. This is also said to be the same with the Under-23 side.
This could mean that the Toffees struggle in this summer’s window, with the World Cup in Russia meaning, realistically, any transfer business may not be completed by mid-July.
To make matters worse, the window shuts on 9th August. However, Brands and the new Toffees boss will look to land targets in efficient fashion, with preparations for next season well underway.
