Everton could make an ambitious move for Jose Mourinho should they sack Roberto Martinez, according to the Daily Star.
Fans have grown tired of their Catalonian manager and pressure is beginning to mount after the draw against Southampton on Saturday. ‘Martinez out’ banners continue to pop up and the clubs board may look for a change of manager this summer.
Although the article suggests Everton could move for the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, they only cite the change to his odds to be next Everton manager. They instead claim that the Toffees are interested in both Saints manager Ronald Koeman and Ajax boss Frank de Boer, which could suggest that links to Mourinho are not as substantial as they claim.

If Everton were to move for Mourinho it would be a show of their new financial strength under majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, as well as new found ambition under his leadership.
The Blues face Liverpool in their next game, with their FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United coming just three days after. Roberto Martinez will be hoping that winning the FA Cup – something the Toffees have not done since 1995 – will save his job for now.
