Agent of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, Alvaro Torres, has revealed that he has received requests for ‘information’ concerning his client, amid interest from both Everton and Liverpool.
Calcio Napoli 24 claimed earlier this month that the Toffees were keen on signing the Spanish midfielder this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to bring a new midfielder to Goodison Park.
The 23-year old joined Napoli from Real Betis in 2018, where he cited now-Everton boss Ancelotti as a major factor in his decision to move to Naples.
Now the Italian reportedly wants to reunite with the midfielder, who has also been tipped to leave Napoli this summer.
As quoted by Star Sport, Torres revealed earlier this week to have received contact from an umber of interested clubs, one of which could potentially be the Blues. He said:
There have been many changes in the club this season, it’s been a difficult year for Napoli.
A renewal? We have set aside negotiations for a while, until the end of the season.
There are very important clubs that have asked for information, and we have already informed Napoli.
There is no release clause in his current contract. I really don’t know what Ruiz’s value is at present.
With Ruiz respecting Ancelotti as a coach, Everton could look to take advantage of the young midfielder’s movement this summer in order to bring him to Merseyside.
Ruiz would bring an element of control to Everton’s midfield, with the Spaniard demonstrating skill in his passing play and with the ball at his feet – skills which could prove valuable as Everton will be seeking more goal contributions coming from midfield.
