Everton have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Edin Dzeko after Sky Italia reports claimed that the striker is training alone.
Currently on the books of Serie A outfit AS Roma, the Bosnian is reportedly training in isolation following a publicised dispute with his manager Paulo Fonseca. The 34-year-old striker duly looks to be on his way out of the Stadio Olimpico either on loan or in a permanent deal.
Despite his age, Dzeko’s experience has served him well and he is showing no signs of losing his scoring touch, with seven goals in just 15 Serie A appearances this season, demonstrating formidable efficiency in front of goal.
The former Manchester City marksman is attracting interest from Premier League side West Ham, whilst his former club and the Toffees have also been linked.
Given his previous success in English football, the Premier League has been touted as the most likely destination were Dzeko to leave Italy behind in the latter stages of this transfer window. Sky Italia claimed that the veteran striker will only leave in favour of a move to an ‘elite club’.

With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, Everton could be an attractive project for Dzeko in the latter stages of his career.
The Italian is vastly experienced across a multitude of leagues, and the likes of James Rodriguez join Ancelotti in having experience with elite clubs in their playing careers.
In that view, there certainly could be a basis to bring Dzeko to Merseyside – if the finances are right.
