Sporting Lisbon are actively seeking a transfer to England for midfielder and Everton target William Carvalho, according to Sky Sports.
Sky claim that both Sporting and the player’s people are attempting to facilitate a move to the Premier League, and Everton at this point seem like the most likely destination.
Speculation has mounted in recent weeks that suggest the Toffees will aim to make the 26-year old Portugal international new manager Marco Silva’s first signing with his new club.

Rumour has persisted today in Portuguese media that Carvalho had terminated his contract with Sporting, leaving him as a free agent, although Sky Sports understand that this isn’t the case.
Everton are said to be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer, as they target a large squad overhaul in their attempted rebuild.
The Euro 2016 winner previously played under Silva at Sporting, which could sway him Everton’s way this summer, although there will likely be other interested parties, given the positive reputation Carvalho has earned in the past few years.
