Everton have reached an agreement to sign Turkey international striker Cenk Tosun from Besiktas in a deal worth £25m, the Guardian have revealed.
Despite their recent upturn in form, the Toffees have been lacking goals from their strikers having sold Romelu Lukaku in the summer, with Sandro Ramirez failing to hit the ground running.
Tosun has been one of the most prolific strikers outside of Europe’s top five leagues in the last 18 months whilst playing for Besiktas, netting 37 goals and seven assists since the start of last season in all competitions.
It’s understood that the 26-year-old will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton once the January transfer window opens next week.
Sam Allardyce has tracked the striker throughout his career and recommended that Crystal Palace sign him in the summer, but the Eagles saw their own bid rejected.
Tosun’s arrival could spell bad news for the likes of Sandro and Oumar Niasse who will be pushed further down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
