Everton defender Ashley Williams was taken to hospital yesterday after he suffer a suspected cracked rib during Wales’ 0-0 draw with Mexico in the USA.
Williams had to be substituted in the 17th minute of the game after feeling some discomfort in his ribs after stretching for the ball.
After the game, manager Ryan Giggs confirmed that his captain had gone to hospital for an X-ray with a suspected cracked rib.

He said:
[Ashley has] gone to the hospital to get an X-ray. He’s gone to check that there’s no real damage, maybe just a cracked rib. They’re really painful. You breathe, you sneeze, you cough – it’s agony. Fingers crossed he’ll be okay because we want him fit and back for pre-season.
The fact that players are playing international fixtures at this stage of the season will hardly be greeted well by Premier League clubs and Everton will be less than happy to see their defender injured.
