Everton have reportedly had a second offer in the region of €40 million turned down by Watford for midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure – but do the Toffees really need him?
According to French outlet RMC, cited by GFFN, the Hornets have rejected a new bid by Everton, with Marco Silva keen on linking up with the Frenchman following the pair’s good relationship at Vicarage Road.

Silva has already brought in Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin to bolster his holding midfield ranks, so do the Toffees really need to sign Doucoure?

With Delph and Gbamin arriving Goodison Park, it looks as if the Toffees have brought in two sufficient replacements for Idrissa Gueye.
There’s no doubting that Doucoure would be an excellent signing, with many describing the powerful box-to-box midfielder as one of the best players outside the top six.
However, Silva would more than likely also use Doucoure in a central holding role, and may well be better off looking into a more attacking arrival.
Wilfried Zaha has been hotly tipped to move to Merseyside, and if the Toffees fans had the choice between Doucoure and Zaha, I’m sure the majority would be willing to sacrifice a move for the Frenchman to bring the Crystal Palace star to the club.
