Everton Football Club have taken the next step to building a brand-new stadium by securing a deal to lease land at Bramley Moore Dock.
The deal between the football club and Peel Land and Property Services Ltd. includes a 200-year agreement for Everton to lease the land, with which they will be able to construct their 60,000-seat stadium.
This lease is under certain conditions, one being that that the club manage to get the required amount of funding necessary to build the venue.
The other condition that this agreement will progress is that they manage to secure planning permission to build upon this land.
Everton have been struggling to pick up points at Goodison Park, their recent defeat being a 5-1 thrashing from Atalanta in the Europa League group stages.
Fans of other clubs have found the time to poke fun at the team’s recent crisis, leading to the Toffees hanging above the relegation zone in the Premier League by just two points.

If the Toffees cannot manage to sort out their managerial mayhem, their debut game in their new stadium could well be against a Championship side.
