Everton will look to make it two wins on the bounce as they host Leeds at Goodison Park this evening.
Marco Bielsa’s visitors will come up against a team in renewed spirits following the Toffees’ 3-2 victory against Fulham in their previous fixture. The league’s top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagged a brace to take his tally to 10 so far this season, whilst Abdoulaye Doucoure celebrated his first goal as a Toffees player.
Conversely, Leeds are in desperate search of a win, having been battered in 4-1 defeats against both Leicester and Crystal Palace in their previous three fixtures, whilst they could only manage a draw in a 0-0 stalemate against 10-man Arsenal.
However, all is far from rosy for Ancelotti’s side; it emerged on Thursday that key left-back Lucas Digne, who managed two assists from a pair of fine crosses against Fulham, is ruled out with injury. After suffering severe ankle ligament damage in a training session, Everton have since confirmed that Digne will need to undergo surgery – ruling him out for a long period of time.
Yerry Mina could also struggle to keep his place after a difficult outing against Fulham which led to criticism from many Toffees supporters.
