It’s all well and good showing up and putting some effort in, but when United score in the first 4 minutes and you fail to respond for the next 86 minutes, it’s no better than losing 3-0 in Italy or 3-0 at Goodison. It’s still nowhere near good enough.
Our heads went down as soon as United netted, a scene all too familiar but to our credit (and especially Ashley Williams’) we rallied and gave United a game. However our attack isn’t good enough to sustain that high-intensity of a game for 90 minutes and our players certainly aren’t young enough.
Koeman needs a complete reshuffle before the visit of Bournemouth, lest we’ll see yet another game fly past us and Koeman’s job is in real danger.
There are people wanting him out already and it’s entirely justified. He’s failed to overcome a considerable ego and sticks with a system that doesn’t work.
That sounds familiar, but I can’t quite put my finger on it?
Anyway, onto Sunderland beating us now. Onwards and upwards?
