I’m not going to go through minute-by minute on what took place tonight, I’ll just address Koeman’s failings for the most part then give some quick ratings because I don’t think anyone wants to hear it and I most definitely do not fancying writing about it. But mainly, this is to address what is the most distant Everton team I’ve ever seen. This, at least the set of words in this introduction, is about a manager failing to overcome an overwhelming ego.
Koeman started with the same failed system that only worked when we had one of the greatest strikers in the world in our ranks, and now since we’ve lost him, it’s a shambles of a system.
Strike One.
Koeman played players who had no right to be playing, didn’t play players who deserve a chance, and most certainly did not play his players in the correct positions.
Strike Two.
Koeman failed to address any of the growing negligences throughout the game as we fell further and further behind a dominant Atalanta, who outclassed us in every way imaginable. He did not alter what was a dying midfield and left a youthful defence to rot.
Strike Three, Koeman’s out.
