Everton part ways with Sam Allardyce

Everton have confirmed that they have parted ways with manager Sam Allardyce.

Whilst Everton’s results may have looked good to neutrals, a large section of the club’s supporters became disenfranchised with the 63-year-old and the style of play that his side produced on a weekly basis.

Allardyce only took over at Everton in November after the club sacked Ronald Koeman and whilst he did guide the club away from any possible threat of relegation, the mood around the club had been dour for weeks.

After Everton’s defeat to West Ham on the final day of the campaign, Allardyce admitted that he was unsure about his future and reports had indicated that he would leave the club.

Those reports were confirmed today and Everton will now begin their search for a new manager, with former Hull City and Watford boss Marco Silva the favourite to replace Allardyce.
