Everton in pole position for Bristol Rovers teenager Ollie Dewsbury

Everton are reported to be leading the race for Bristol Rovers forward Ollie Dewsbury, according to Bristol Live, with the 18-year-old said to be training with the club. Arsenal and Fulham are also credited with an interest in the player.

Dewsbury has been on Rovers’ books since he was seven and made his senior debut at 15 in an FA Cup tie against Whitby Town. He’s spent this season out on loan, most recently at Weston-super-Mare, having previously had spells at Yate Town and Taunton Town.

For now, this is worth treating with some caution. Bristol Live’s report is currently the only source carrying the story, and nothing has emerged elsewhere yet. That’s not unusual for lower-league links — regional papers often get there first — but it isn’t the kind of multi-source confirmation this site would normally treat as settled.

If it holds up, it fits a pattern of Everton casting a wide net for younger talent this summer, in the same vein as their move for Chelsea’s Arthur Barratt. Given his age and level, any deal would be for the academy rather than an immediate first-team option. Worth watching to see if it gains traction elsewhere before Everton’s interest becomes any clearer.
