Everton are not currently considering a move for Gremio forward Everton Soares, according to the Liverpool Echo.
There have been many stories written about the Toffees’ supposed interest in the 23-year old over the past month, the latest of which came from Globo Esporte, who recently quoted the player himself talking about how he heard from Carlo Ancelotti directly in January.
According to Globo Esporte, Everton Soares had claimed that the Italian coach personally enquired about whether the Brazil international would be “interested in playing” for Everton.
While the Echo couldn’t confirm whether Ancelotti did indeed reach out to contact Everton Soares, they claim to understand that Everton are working hard on drawing up their list of summer targets, and the Brazilian currently does not feature on that list.

While it is a shame to hear that Everton are not interested in their namesake, it is equally positive to hear that the club are working hard behind the scenes to draw up a viable list of targets, with Ancelotti expected to spend big in the summer.
Everton Soares could have been a good signing for Everton, as someone who can play on the left, the right and through the centre, he may have made become an invaluable asset to Ancelotti (Transfermarkt). His impressive goalscoring record (11 in 30 last season) could have also increased Everton’s firepower.
Still, there are four months remaining of the season before we even need to begin thinking too hard about transfers, and following the Premier League’s decision to extend their transfer window back to it’s traditional deadline, Everton will have plenty of time to complete all the business they want to in due course.
