Everton monitoring Manchester City starlet Tosin Adarabioyo

Everton already welcomed two teenagers to the club this month in Ademola Lookman and Anton Donkor but a third could follow.

The Toffees are monitoring defender Tosin Adarabioyo’s situation at Manchester City ahead of possibly making a move for the player, say the Guardian.

The 19-year-old centre-back has been on the fringes of the Manchester City first-team squad for the last two seasons and was handed his City debut in the 5-1 FA Cup 5th round defeat to Chelsea last season.

Adarabioyo hasn’t seen his game-time increase greatly under Pep Guardiola this season, however, making just three appearances in all competitions including playing the full 90 mins in the Champions League against Celtic earlier in the campaign.

City are in a bit of a pickle regarding the centre-back’s contract situation. While eager to tie Adarabioyo down to a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of the season, City are unwilling to meet his demands with Guardiola stating that the England U19 international is not quite ready for an increased role in the first-team just yet.

If City cannot agree terms with the defender soon then they risk losing him for a minimal compensation fee at the end of the season, which could prompt them into selling him this month.

The Guardian note that there are clubs keeping tabs on the situation, including Everton, while Celtic are also interested in the centre-back.
