Everton managerial target Paulo Fonseca has signed a new contract with Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
Currently the second favourite for the Everton job on Sky Bet (after Marco Silva), Fonseca was rumoured to have turned down Everton earlier this week and looked set to join West Ham.
However, Sky Sports reported in the last few days that Fonseca had turned down the chance to take over with the Hammers, and looked likely to re-sign with the Miners, who he has been with since 2016.

Now it has been confirmed, with the Ukraine club releasing a statement on their official website confirming Fonseca had signed a new deal until 2020.
Marco Silva has been rumoured to be close to agreeing a deal with Everton over the last few days, and with Fonseca now off the table, talks are surely to be ramped up between Silva’s people and the club.
