Everton have reportedly approached Lille over the availability of striker Rafael Leao – but should the Toffees spend €40 million on the youngster?
According to French outlet La Voix du Nord, cited by Sports Witness, the Toffees are one of five sides who have approached the Ligue 1 side over the possibility of signing the highly-rated striker.

Fellow Premier League side Aston Villa have previously been linked with a move for the 20-year-old, who is regarded as a future star by many in France.
It seems strange that the French outfit would be willing to part ways with the forward ahead of the new season just 12 months after signing the striker.
However, Lille’s loss could end up being Everton’s gain.
The Toffees are desperate to bring in a striker ahead of the new season, and spending €40 million on the youngster could be a smart piece of business.
Leao scored eight times in Ligue 1 last season and appears to have all the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League.
The young Portuguese striker is tall, strong and quick and will only get better in years to come, so at €40 million, Everton may well be picking up a star of the future at a relatively low price in today’s market if they can get a deal over the line.
