Everton have offered experience defender Felipe Mattioni a trial contract.
Mattiono, a Brazilian full-back, has recently been training with the Toffees and has even made an appearance for the Blues’ under-21s side.
The twenty-seven year old has been contracted to Goodison Park for the rest of the season, but that could be extended if the Brazilian improves his fitness.
Mattioni’s last club was mid-table La Liga side Espanyol, in which he encountered many injuries.
The full-back has been sent on loan to Doncaster Rovers from the Merseyside club, along with Conor Grant. Both players will target some playing time with their new, League One side.
Mattioni suffered back-to-back cruciate ligament knee injuries in the recent years, along with other minor injuries. The Brazilian has made just 22 appearances since the beginning of the 2009/2010 season, due to his poor injury record.
Mattioni, who used to play at the San Siro with AC Milan, could play for the Rovers this weekend as Colchester United travel to the Keepmoat.
He was a free agent during the summer before being picked up by Everton, and has played for Mallorca on a loan transfer.
The former Gremio defender will hope to resurrect his career at Goodison Park, but must first have a successful spell on loan at Doncaster.
