Juventus midfielder Emre Can’s transfer to German side Borussia Dortmund is ‘imminent’, according to Sky Sports Germany.
Everton’s name has been mentioned in recent weeks regarding the former Liverpool man but Carlo Ancelotti was quick to play down the rumour, saying last week that the names in the newspapers are all wrong.
The report states that Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to hijack the move and have also submitted an offer for Can, but Dortmund are currently leading the race for his signature after the German was left out of Juventus’ squad for Sunday’s defeat to Napoli.

Everton fans don’t seem too keen on bringing in the former Red, despite some admitting that he is a better option than some of the current midfielders at the club.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed recently that Jean-Philippe Gbamin has started training with the team, whilst Andre Gomes is doing individual training with the physio, so we feel that signing a player like Can is not really a priority.
After both players are back to full fitness, Ancelotti will have a wealth of options at his disposal and adding Can to that would have been an extra headache for the manager.
There’s no denying he’s a good player, but after his exploits with the Reds, we feel he never would have suited playing in the blue of Everton.
