According to the Mirror, Everton are in talks with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven over the possibility of bringing director of football Marcel Brands to Goodison Park.
The 54-year-old chief has been with the Dutch giants for almost eight years and has helped PSV make over £200 million from identifying, developing and then selling young players.
Before his time at PSV, Brands spent five years as the director of football with AZ Alkmaar and helped bring in former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal as the club’s manager.
Current Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay and Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman are just some of the names Brands has scouted and brought through the youth academy during his time in Holland.
Reports have suggested that if talks go well and Brands agrees to move to Everton, then he will work alongside current director of football Steve Walsh, expanding the club’s network.
