Mario Gotze is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and reports have now linked the German footballer with a move to Everton.
The 27-year-old has been in and out of the Dortmund starting XI this season, starting just five games in 25 Bundesliga appearances.
Available on a free transfer at the end of the season, the former German international is expected to gain interest from a number of sides, and German media outlet Bild have reported that Everton are keen.
Gotze, who scored the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup, beating Argentine in the final – has struggled to live up to that performance ever since.
On a reported £170,000-a-week at Signal Iduna Park, Gotze could seemingly be forced to take a pay cut next season in order to make a move elsewhere.
Everton boss Ancelotti is keen to bolster his squad options next season and with backing from owner Farhad Moshiri, the Italian could be allowed to bring in a number of high profile players.
Gotze, who moved to Bayern Munich following his World Cup-winning goal, struggled to succeed at the Allianz arena, before returning to Dortmund in 2016.
These Everton fans on social media have been reacting to the recent reports linking him with a move to Goodison Park.
