Everton were dealt a huge blow during their clash with Manchester United on Sunday as Lucas Digne was forced off with an injury in the first-half.
Digne had been struggling with a groin injury during the week, which appeared to resurface as he was replaced by Leighton Baines at Old Trafford.

Whilst Digne is an important player for Everton and has been in good form this season, it must be noted that his replacement – Baines – was crucial to the first goal. It was Baines’ corner that found its way to the ankles of Victor Lindelof – who could only divert into his own net.
Everton will now be hoping that Digne’s injury does not rule him out in the long-term, with a busy Christmas schedule coming up for the Toffees. That being said, Baines is a more than capable player to step up and fill in for however many games he is needed for.
