Several Everton fans have responded positively to Duncan Ferguson’s comments concerning the Premier League’s winter break.
The 2019/20 season marks the first time that the Premier League is taking a winter break, with every team receiving two weeks off in February.
Everton and Crystal Palace will play on Saturday, with six other teams also playing at the weekend before enjoying two weeks off.
The remaining 12 Premier League teams are currently on their two-week break, and will return to league action on February 14th-17th.
While the break will either allow players to get in some warm weather training, or simply relax after a hectic period, Everton’s assistant coach Ferguson isn’t keen on the time off.
Talking to Football Daily, Ferguson had this to say about the winter break:
I don’t like it because the fans can’t go away.
For me, I enjoy the football and have a great lifestyle but the fans can’t go on holiday.
The fans are missing out – so I don’t agree with it.
This reaction has gone down well with a number of Everton supporters, who took to social media to credit Ferguson for always thinking of the fans.
