However, it wasn’t the Spurs game that was on the mind of one Toffees fan, in particular, yesterday.
Newcastle United cruised out 2-1 winners over Burnley yesterday with a fine performance from French winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
Despite his goal and assist during the game, Everton fan Patrick wasn’t quite so complimentary on Twitter…
It was a bold statement from Patrick but Saint-Maximin has absolutely ruined him with that reply.
The French winger is clearly a fantastic player and would more than likely find a place in Everton’s starting XI if he were to get the game time.
It is fair to say that the reply has gone viral, with Saint-Maximin racking up more than 246,000 likes at the time of publishing.
Poor Patrick, however, has been dealt the blow of the century and we’re not quite sure if he will be able to recover.
Attentions turn to tonights fixture against Brighton, with the Toffees in a great position to leapfrog Tottenham in the table.
